THE CHALLENGE

Assetz is a Bangalore based, quality conscious company of prominence in India’s growing and booming property market. Our relationship with them began with specific challenges. The first, was to discount receivable from high end premium residential apartments and raise money in 10 days for a specific sudden and critical requirement. An immediate next assignment was to take over high price equity funding in another project and replace it with low cost debt against future cash flows. For Capital 9, the test was the time frame – both for the money required and for discounting of receivable from high end apartments. We also had to structure the deal carefully as replacing equity required lot of compliance related challenges and change in structure of firm.

The span of tasks covered to gain ground for the client, was both a learning and showcase of prowess for us. Capital 9 worked on a war footing with various agencies like lawyers/ valuators/ technical team and credit to ensure that we could meet the client’s deadline. For the second assignment we engaged with legal experts and a credit team at the financial institution to ensure that equity debt swap happened smoothly.
